The end times are near - Welcome to Chaos

Chaos

The word has just four letters, but the immediate thoughts that fly across one's mind is the state of panic, confusion and distortions the word signifies.

Ending of the world has been predicted by so many civilizations, but the true nature of the apocalypse has never been defined more accurately than the Holy books. The kind of plagues and tribulations mankind is due to face just gives me the goosebumps.

Consider this for measurement, the Tsunami we witnessed a few years ago caused such a havoc and widespread destruction in a few countries. Imagine if that chaos loomed over the entire population of earth, would we be safe. If we add the other tribulations due to come to the already chaotic Tsunami, we can definitely and literally relate to the term "meeting our maker"

How did we end up pushing mother nature to such a chaos? Why has man not learnt from his several mistakes over a period of 10,000 years? Why are we still thinking man made facilities which are pushing us down the spiral way of destructions worth the cost? These are a few questions that continue to haunt me.

Think about it, almost everyone of us recall how things were better just 20 years ago. I am pretty confident this was the same thought from each and every person born in that generation 20 years ago. Luxury is definitely a need but how can it dominate our most basic need of survival.

I close my post asking everyone to pass the message on to people they know if my message resonates with them. Save our planet. Save mother nature. Save yourselves.

Cards Against Humanity - A mind boggling card game.

Hello Bloggers,

Recently I came across a post where a fellow writer had listed the top 5 methods of passing leisure time with friends, colleagues and family members. The reason I talk about this list is primarily because many a times we tend to end up playing the wrong kind of games at the wrong place with the wrong set of people.

Cards against humanity is a card game intended  to target humans who are game for a bit of twist from the usual genre of card games like Poker, Rummy etc. The game is quite simple in terms of rules. A maximum of 6 players can play the game and will be given white answer cards and black question cards, in every round one of the players has the right to ask a question from the black question card and all the other players must choose to answer from their most funniest white cards. Sounds simple and boring doesnt it, well if you thought this is all the twist this game had you are wrong.

The card games targets some of the most controversial, funny, hilarious, mind numbing and taboo question and answers that humanity has ever answered. Trust me by the end of the game there wont be any other winner apart from the cards themselves, hence the game is rightly named Cards against humanity.

Amazon sells Cards against Humanity sets in terms of the main game and subsequent expansion packs. For card game lovers who want the whole deal a suggestion would be to pick the Cards against Humanity complete set (Mupater version). It includes Entire CARDS AGAINST HUMANITY SET!!! Main Game, Expansion 1, Expansion 2, Expansion 3, Expansion 4, Expansion 5, Christmas 2012, Christmas 2013, Nostalgia Pack, Bonus Reject.

The game is one of the best selling products on Amazon, many of the reviewers have ended up playing this card game with family and friends but were embarrassed with the questions which were posed during the game, hence a personal suggestion please check through the game thoroughly to pick the right kind of circle to start this game with. Once you start though it will be quite difficult to get of the addiction.

Cards against humanity is not targeted towards a certain age group, like I said if  you have gone ahead and selected the right people with the right mindset then age wont be a problem. Suggestions for this game would be during night outs, parties, birthdays and other positive functions.

Asus Zenphone 2 (4 GB RAM, 2.3 GHz Processor, 64 GB) Review.

Hello Bloggers,

Cell phone market is one of the most profitable and competitive in recent times. The primary target for cell phone manufacturers today is to ensure they are able to unveil phones with the state of art hardware and technology all the while ensuring the price quotient is maintained well within the grasp of the middle class section, any company which is able to come up with this formidable combination will always succeed.

One of my earlier posts was about my favourite cell phone product from last year the One Plus One. The phone company ensured they managed to come up with a phone which not only far exceeded expectations from the technology oriented population but was a huge plus when it came to price.

This year my favourite cell phone product is the Asus Zenphone 2. The Taiwanese computer and electronic giant Asus has always intrigued the world with good cell phones, but this year it became the first cellphone company to power its latest Asus Zenphone 2 with a 4 GB RAM. I had the opportunity to test one of these phones in the office.

Pros:

  •  4 GB RAM
  • 2.3 GHz Intel Atom Z3580 Quad Core Processor
  • 64 GB Internal Storage
  • Dual SIM card slot
  • 13 MP/5MP Front and Back camera
  • Fast charging technology
Cons:
  • Overheating during charging and general tasks
  • Just a 3000 mAh battery, battery back up sucks with internet turned on
  • No headphones
Overall the phone is quite robust and sturdy, a bit too heavy for some one like me who is already used to a lighter phone like One Plus One. Asus as a phone company has sure come a long way to challenge companies like Samsung, HTC and others.

One Plus team will have to watch out for this phone as it almost beats every aspect of their flagship product the One Plus One except for the Cyanogen Mod 12. In coming days we can surely expect various versions from Asus which will surely compete in the market for smartphones price less than 25K.

Please share any comments on how I can make this blog better. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Service Desk - A General understanding.

Hi All,

Service Desk is ideally a centralized support desk for all queries associated with an organisations for respective end users to contact. Imagine a centralized desk where you or any of your family members could report any issues or challenges you face in day to day life, it can be related to any topic from Finance to Mental health to Medicine to Children, ideally this would be called the Service Desk for your family.

Service Desk has evolved over a period of 15 years, earlier the IT market had only what were called as Technical Support Desks. The problem with technical support desks were that they would target a specific product or a technology rather than the entire service itself. Service Desk in turn targets anything and everything which can be considered as support for a end user Eg: Buying a laptop, resetting a password, unlocking an account, installing a software.

Service Desks are now a mandatory service arsenal for any company operating under any sector be it healthcare, finance, infrastructure, telecom etc. Service desks are also helpful in drastic reduction of costs since each service line expertise would cost you more and the amount of time spent in diverting specific non supported tasks would be great.

Service Desks usually have a single managerial personnel managing a group of analysts who help users via phone calls, emails, chats and various other modes of contact. The performance of a service desk can be measured in terms of the number of calls its manages within a stipulated amount of time as designated by the company or mentioned in detail contracts if these services are outsourced to another organization. Abandoning calls is considered a taboo within the service desk industry and hence there are strict guidelines to ensure these are also enabled as a performance indicator to keep things in check.

Practically service desks can manage huge tasks and divert tons of tickets effectively to various parts of the organization enabling a drastic change in the way time is managed within these firms. Additionally the organization is further benefited if these service desks are outsourced to other countries with lesser salary bands.

Service Desk will become a firm IT segment in the future. I hope my few words have been helpful to as many of the readers of the above blog.

Please share a comment about the blog or on how I can improve the blog.

5 Tips to avoid fear of public speaking.

Hello Bloggers,

Good evening. Many of us creations in this world suffer from a horrible fear of public speaking. It is vicious, demotivating and results in a massive breakdown of self confidence.

The art of public speaking lies in making our inner self aware of our own capabilities before showcasing any other topic on stage or in front of a potential gathering.

Tips to avoid fear of public speaking:

  • Prepare well before speaking in front of crowd. One of the most important rules of public speaking is to ensure thorough preparation of the topic at hand. Simply put the better prepared you are the better you will speak.
  • Rehearse your speech at least a few times. Mentally visualized rehearsals are beneficial even if the time limit to prepare for the speaking is less.
  • Pointers are critical to execute a well designed speech. Make a list of pointers after dividing the speech in sections of importance.
  • Body language and posture. Maintain a disciplined body language and posture this will avoid wavered looks from the audience and keep them engrossed in the discussion at hand. Formal attire is an a sub tip that can be incorporated.
  • Self assurance is the final mantra. Realise your ability and assure yourself that this task is something you can carry out easily and go for it.
All the best for your speech day.

One Plus One - Never Settle

Hi All,

One Plus a fairly new company launched its flagship product last year called the One Plus One. I own one myself and felt the great burden to share a full fledged review on my blog about this one of a kind gadget.

Pros:
  • Competitive price (21,000 INR or 300 USD)
  • Elegant 5.5 inch display screen
  • Task churning 3 GB RAM
  • In depth 1080 x 1920 pixels (~401 ppi pixel density)
  • Powerful Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400
  • Accurate 13 MP front camera, 4128 x 3096 pixels, autofocus, dual-LED flash

Cons:
  • No expandable card slot
  • Poor after sales support
  • Poor marketing strategies
  • No dual SIM card slot

Overall the product is a masterpiece, what the company lacks though is after sales service. I am a forum member on One Plus One and found the entire site to be filled with complaints around how phones with issues still have problems instead of resolution. Additionally even though there is a clear focus from senior members to bring this problem to its end there is a lot of scope for improvement.

One of the beautiful things I felt about this company was their sales strategy, it’s important to note that money makes many things but in the world of One Plus One Invite makes many things possible. The company has now shifted to the new flash sales and open sales model, but when the invite sales strategy was on the kind of helping nature I saw amongst forum members is a rare phenomenon in present day.

One Plus is due to launch their second product which is simple named One Plus 2. Hope they are able to work on their mistakes post the launch of this second product. One thing is for clear if the company needs to survive in a country like India they need to step up in terms of after sales support too. Please post any comments or tips for me to improve in my future posts. Thanks everyone.
